Lower Humboldt River Watershed Plan
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) proposes a project (Proposed Project) sponsored by the Pershing County Water Conservation District to make improvements within the Lower Humboldt River Watershed to provide flood protection and improve agricultural water management. The proposed project would be located in Pershing County, Nevada and would be funded through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act (Public Law [PL] 83-566).
Pershing County Water Conservation District, in partnership with the NRCS, held a virtual public scoping meeting as part of the Watershed Plan and Environmental Document and per the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Council on Environmental Quality, and USDA NEPA implementing regulations. The public scoping meeting provided information about the purpose and need of the project and to solicit public comments.
Written comments can be submitted during the public scoping period starting October 13, 2021 and ending November 12, 2021. All questions and comments should be directed to:
